I've built the "Work at Home Institute" for people who don't necessarily want to do a lot of research of legitimate work from home opportunities but just want to get going as soon as possible. I have broken the page into two sections of ways to make money. The first section are all programs that I belong to that let you make money through taking surveys. All of the paid surveys listed are completely free to join and I have personally been a member of for over 2 years. Each one actually pays me or I wouldn't recommend them.

The second section of the "Work at Home Institute" page is dedicated to legitimate work from home opportunities. Some of the opportunities in this section are free and others are not. The ones that are not free do have money back guarantees that have been tested. I also personally belong to all of the work at home programs below over a year and have been paid in a timely manner with no hassles.

My Survey - I have been a member of this free paid survey site for over 7 years now and have been paid monthly that whole time. If that doesn't make a legitimate paid survey site I don't know what does. A realistic earnings expectations for just taking surveys is about $20 to $30 a month.

Opinion Outpost - After joining this free paid survey site almost 2 years ago I have never been disappointed. Consistently I make about $10 to $15 a month on this free paid survey site. This survey site does have a very good affiliate program that you can join and make significantly more money every month absolutely free.

American Consumer Surveys - This is the second free survey site I ever joined. Of course when I joined this survey site 7 years ago I was waiting for the "catch". That "catch" never came. I have been consistently making about $20 a month from this legitimate paid survey site and have never given them a single cent.

Light Speed Survey - This survey site I joined about 5 years ago and have seen grown into one of the better free paid survey sites out there. Consistently this survey site sends out the most surveys every month. On a regular basis I make about $30 a month from this survey site.

Survey 4 Profit - This survey site is legitimate, free and pays BUT they do make claims that are completely unrealistic and will never happen. They don't send out a lot of surveys and you can realistically expect to make $5 or $10 here and there. This completely free survey site is not as consistent as the previous sites.

ECN Research- This survey site is a little different then the others. They do not compensate you with cash but prizes. For the little over a year I have been a member I have received movie tickets, deposable cameras, ear phones and other miscellaneous items.

Disciple's Cross - As a general rule of thumb when evaluating legitimate work from home opportunities is that 99.9999% of all build product at home "programs" are complete and absolute scams. Disciple's Cross is the one and only build products at home program that I have found to be legitimate. This is NOT FREE to JOIN.

Mylot - I joined Mylot completely free when it first started and it has really turned into something very interesting and also a good way to make a couple of dollars every month. It is ultimately a forum or like a Yahoo Answers that pays you to post. I have been a member for a couple of years and consistently make $40 a month.

Associated Content - If you fancy yourself a writer this is a MUST join. I make $200 to $300 a week writing for Associated Content with a very minimal time commitment on my part. Some one can make consistently more if focused. This is probably the BEST FREE LEGITIMATE OPPORTUNITY I have every joined.

Go Freelance - This is like a Monster.com for Freelancers. Employers come to this site a post freelance positions that they need to hire for. This is a great way to find temporary work that you can do from home. This positions can be for entry level type positions to very advanced. This does have a monthly membership fee but also a trial period.
