Never leave a job interview without asking at least three questions to the potential employer. Below are some questions you should ask during the job interview. There are hundreds if not thousands of questions you could ask a potential employer during the job interview. This is just a small sample.

Doing the job well is important the company you are interviewing with. You should ask questions about the traits that are necessary for someone to be successful at the company. Listen carefully to the response you receive from the interviewer. If I do well in this position, where could I see myself in the organization in two to three years?

When you are interviewing with a potential employer they are not just considering you for the specific job opening but trying to assess your potential for promotion within the company. If you do not have the potential in the employer’s eyes you probably will not get the position.

What is a typical work day/week like?

This is an important question to ask because it shows you are interested in the reality of the job. Asking this question to the employer during the interview also shows that you are not clueless as to what that reality may be.

Why did the previous person in this position leave?

This is an extremely important and appropriate question. Just as the potential employer is probing your background to gauge your possibility for success, you should probe the positions history to help judge the possibility of success.
