Functional Summary Resume
A
functional summary resume is great for people who are lacking
work experience and job seekers who have large gaps in work
history. A functional summary resume highlights your relevant
qualifications, skills, education, experiences and accomplishments, but
puts little emphasis on job history. Functional summary resumes
are good for people that fall under the following categories:
- Job
seekers who do not have a clear career path
- A
person wit little experience in th career field that they are trying to
enter
- People
who are making career changes
- Job
seekers who have major gaps in their work histories.
You need to be careful when
utilizing a functional summary resume format because not all employers
like functional summary resumes. The reason being is they feel with a
functional summary resume it is sometimes difficult to match up your
skills with previous positions. You can avoid this objection by
including the company with the accomplishment.
