Functional Summary Resume Examples
A functional summary resume is great for people who are lacking work experience and job seekers who have large gaps in their work history. A functional summary resume highlights your relevant qualifications, skills, education, experiences and accomplishments, but puts little emphasis on work history. This type of resume is great for people that fall under these criteria:
Job seekers who do not have a clear career path.
A person with little experience in the career field that they are trying to enter.
People who are making career changes.
Job seekers who have major gaps in their work histories.
You need to be careful when utilizing a functional summary resume because not all employers like them because they feel it is sometimes difficult to match up your skills with previous positions. You can avoid this objection by including the company with the accomplishment.
Below is a very basic example of a functional summary resume. Remember when using this type of resume layout, make it unique and relevant to yourself. A person needs to take a lot of time when putting their resume together, it is your first impression to potential employers.
