Let’s face it, most waitress positions are exactly the same thing from restaurant to restaurant whether you are working for a small family owned establishment or a big nationwide chain. The nuances of the job may be different but your overall skills that you are using day to day do not change.
Because of that a chronologically ordered resume may not be the best option for a waitress resume. Remember that your resume is your 30 second commercial. Just re-listing the same skills over and over again for different jobs is a waste of valuable space on your resume that can be used to show more skills and also a waste of your time. If you have pretty much done the same thing at all your previous positions and also have a good work history, you would want to use a functional resume template for your waitress resume.
