Direct Mail Scam
All envelope stuffing and direct mail opportunities
are scams. Of all
the millions of people that have been made suckers from this is just
maddening. I have NEVER run across a legitimate envelope stuffing
opportunity. Direct mail money making opportunities just simply do not
exist. Anyone who tells you differently is a complete and absolute liar.
Let's apply a little common sense to the direct mail scam. What company
would pay $1 to $10 for every envelope stuffed when there are machines
that will stuff them for about 1 cent each? That is why direct mail is
a scam. I can have a mailing campaign of 3,000 pieces stamped and
addressed for $200 through automation. Why would I pay someone $3,000
to stuff envelopes?
Direct Mail companies I have worked for in the past who would send out
millions of pieces a year would never pay even $1 per piece for someone
to process their direct mail campaigns. No one could pay that much to
stuff envelopes. Direct Mail campaigns that produced a profit of
$30,000 would have quickly shrunk to $0. For a 100,000 piece direct
mail campaign they would have to spend $100,000 for people to stuff the
envelopes then another $150,000 for the postage/sales
materials/envelopes costing them a total of $250,000. Meanwhile using
automated systems for there direct mail campaigns, that same campaign
would cost roughly $152,000. If you where the company that was paying
for the direct mail piece which would you prefer to spend $250,000 or
$152,000? Plus with automated systems you don't have to worry about any
unreliable mail stuffers who never complete their work.
As the Direct Mail company you have a choice of faster, cheaper, and
better or more expensive, having to recruit people to stuff mail,
hoping your mail stuffers are reliable and human error. Which one would
you choose?
Let me explain how the direct mail scam works. You see an ad that
states they will pay you $1 for every envelope that you stuff (payment
ranges anywhere from $.50 to $5 per stuffed envelope). You pay between
$29.95 to $39.95 for a start up kit, training manual, membership fee or
whatever the direct mail scam calls it. Your "Start Up Kit" arrives a
few days later which is actually a very thin envelope. You open the
envelope you received and it outlines how you are to take out ads (just
like the one you saw) and get other people to send in $1 for
information. When the $1 arrives you mail out the info and receive a
commission off of the $29.95 to $39.95 for the "Start Up Kit"
that a hopeful prospective "Mail Stuffer" sent in. Sounds like a great
idea to make extra money stuffing envelopes until you realized what
happened, SCAM!!!!
You (including myself) fell for one of the oldest scams in the book;
Envelope Stuffing. There is one major problem with direct mail, it
doesn't work . A few years ago you would be able to get a few people to
mail you a $1 for information regarding direct mail opportunities. But
nowadays people won't spend a single cent for information. The internet
is filled with completely free information.
The bottom line is that direct mail is a complete scam.
